Hello & Happy Monday to you!
Did everyone have a lovely weekend? We sure did! I am so blessed to have such amazing people in my life...my wonder child, my awesome boyfriend, my mother, my grandmothers!
I wanted to share some pictures of some of the women that I cherish. My mother is an incredible woman & it's easy to see why...being that she was raised by one of the most influential people in my life, my Laine, my grandmother. I talk about Laine on this blog often, because not only is she an amazing person & truly kind soul, she is also one of my favorite style icons. I have spent hours & hours of my life drooling over her impeccable taste & remarkable style, so much, in fact, that I named my daughter, Presley Laine, after her. She is the epitome of class & sophistication & I couldn't be prouder to have her as my grandmother.
These pictures almost bring tears to my eyes. Aren't they beauties?!?

A DAY AT THE FARM.

Hello & Happy Thursday to you!
My BFF was having kind of a tough week last week, so we decided to go spend some time at one of our favorite places...her family's farm. It's been the backdrop for many an EBV photoshoot, the location of countless parties & family get togethers, just a great place with nothing but fond memories. It's so beautiful there.

DIY: OMBRE NAILS

Before you start, make sure you have everything you need and that it's easy to reach from where you're sitting.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

TWO COLOR POLISHES AND A TOPCOAT. You can choose colors that compliment or go bold and pick two that clash. Experiment with different combinations and see what works.

A SPONGE, A PLASTIC SHEET, AND TOOTHPICKS. I bought a big bathroom sponge and I just cut sections off when I need them. The sections don't have to be perfectly cut, as long as one side is flat it will work. You can use absolutely any sponge - a makeup sponge, washing up sponge or any other kind of sponge you can find.

If you don't have any of these plastic wallets in the house, raid the kitchen cupboards for some foil or baking paper.

Step 1: Using the lightest of the two colors, paint your nails & wait for it to dry completely.

Step 2: On a flat surface, put a generous amount of the colors next to each other on the plastic. Make sure they are just about touching on the edges.

Step 3: Using a toothpick, swirl the two colors together in where they meet. The area where they mix will determine the length of the graduation. So if you want a long graduation, mix a bigger section of the colors, if you want less of a fade, just mix them together a tiny bit.

Step 4: Take your sponge and dab it directly down onto the polish a few times. 

Step 5: Dab the sponge directly down onto your nail. Keep dabbing lightly while moving up and down your nail. 

(You can repeat this step as many times as you need to. Just make sure the polish dries in between so it doesn't start smudging!)

Step 6: Add a topcoat...or two or three! The sponge makes it bumpy, so you may want to add extra topcoats to smooth it out.

Step 7: Clean up all the excess using a brush dipped in acetone or polish remover. 

All finished!

WEEKEND IN REVIEW: WEDDING + SAVANNAH.

Hello friends & Happy Monday to you!
Wedding + Savannah? I kinda like the way that title looks! Maybe one day...
We spent the weekend in Hilton Head, SC for the wedding of two of my long time friends. It's a little extra special when two of your friends marry each other. The wedding was gorgeous (as was the bride!) & we had an amazing time! Probably the best wedding reception ever, no kidding.
Hilton Head is only a short drive from one of the hunk & I's favorite cities, so we drove over Sunday & spent the day roaming historic downtown Savannah. Savannah's a great place. Not only is it gorgeous, there is so much to take in...we spent the whole day just roaming around & looking at the scenery, the antique shops, & all the touristy type stuff. The week after tax time is pretty much the worst time of year for us to do anything financially, so I didn't do any buying on this trip, but I definitely made a mental note of some places we will be returning to in the future! We caught a breathtaking Savannah sunset over the river & then headed back home. Time to get back to work!
